Five Star Plastics is Hiring a Quality Engineer Near Eau Claire, WI

Lead quality focus within facility through established systems and processes, assuring compliance through use of established audits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meet all responsibilities for the Quality Technician position
  • Work with our production department to prevent the problems from recurring.
  • Travel to different customers/vendors to audit to required standards
  • Travel to customers/vendors to follow-up on changes to quality requirements
  • Assist quality technicians
  • Complete First Article Inspections, Non-Production Measurement and Capability Studies
  • Continually improve quality processes while working with production and engineering. Also implement improvements based on customer needs or requirements
  • Assure compliance to calibration requirements/preventative maintenance of quality equipment
  • Proactively communicate with customers about product escapements and improvements
    Track corrective action system to assure compliance at all levels
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to the manufacturing processes.
  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence.
    Develops experiments by applying full and fractional factorial techniques.
  • Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
  • Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the hiring manger.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • ISO 9001: 1 year (Preferred)
